Terms of service

This document is not yet finalised. The contracting entity and the governing jurisdiction are marked below and must be completed, and the whole document reviewed by a qualified adviser, before this product takes money from the public.

What the service is

An API and a set of browser tools that perform operations on documents you supply: rendering, conversion, extraction, redaction and similar. You send a file or some markup, an operation runs, and a result comes back.

What you are buying

Credits, in one-time packs. Credits do not expire. There is no subscription and nothing renews automatically. Every pack unlocks the same functionality; larger packs cost less per credit and differ in no other way.

Credits are a prepaid balance for using this service. They are not currency, carry no cash value, and cannot be transferred between accounts.

Refunds

Credits are held before an operation runs and settled only when it succeeds. If an operation fails, its credits are refunded automatically and in full, without you asking. In a batch, exactly the failed items are refunded.

Unspent credits from a completed purchase are not otherwise refundable, because they do not expire and remain usable indefinitely. If a charge is wrong, contact us and we will put it right.

Your content

You keep every right in the documents you send. We claim no ownership and no licence beyond what is needed to perform the operation you asked for, and the files are deleted when the request ends — the mechanisms are set out here.

You are responsible for having the right to send what you send.

Acceptable use

Do not use the service to break the law or infringe someone else’s rights.
Do not attempt to circumvent the rate limits, the size caps or the billing.
Do not use it to process material you are not permitted to possess.
Do not resell raw access in a way that is simply this service under another name.

Availability

The service is provided as it is, without a guarantee of uptime. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Published limits and error codes are documented on the API page.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, liability arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid for the credits involved. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Ending it

You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend an account that breaches the acceptable-use section above. If we discontinue the service, we will give notice and refund unspent credits.

Contracting entity and governing law

Changes

Material changes will be published here with a new date. Credits already bought keep the terms they were bought under where those terms are more favourable.
